About Me

I first touched clay during a date night class. I wasn't expecting anything, just something to do. But I signed up for the next session before we'd even gotten home, and that was kind of it.

I grew up in Brooklyn, where quiet is something you have to find on purpose. For a while that meant houseplants, then more houseplants, then slowly filling my apartment with things that had texture and weight to them. Clay felt like a natural extension of that, though I didn't think about it that way at the time. It's just slow work, and that turned out to be what I needed.

I split my time between a small setup at home and a community studio nearby. I'm drawn to simple shapes, things that don't ask too much of you. Muted colors, soft edges, pieces that feel good to hold. Most of what I make is meant to be used: cups, bowls, something for a windowsill. When someone tells me they reach for something I made every morning, that's usually the best part of doing this.
